Device Webpage

The signature pad has a web interface where you can upload documents or change the device settings. The device address is shown on the device screen after startup. If your device is already configured with promo screens or a promo video, you will see this informational screen only in the first 30 seconds after the device starts. If you missed the screen, just unplug the USB cable and reconnect it again.

...

When you're using the XML, you can automate the placement of the signature fields. This means that after clicking on the PEN icon, the device will jump to the defined signature fields automatically, where you can add the signature. After the last signature, the browser download will be triggered, and the XML with the signed PDF inside will be returned. More information about the XML format can be found here.

While the document viewing is enabled, you can set the signature meta information for the signature and a visible stamp text

...

The Signer, Reason and Location fields will be used as Meta information for the signature. You will see this values for example with Adobe Reader when you check a signature.

...

If you want to add a visible text around the signature image, you can set the color, postion, fontsize and the text. The text can contain static text and you can reuse the Signer, Reason, Location setting with the placeholders [Signer], [Reason], [Location] and [Time] for the current time.

You can add for every signature different values, but you need to do this while the pad is inside the document viewing, so in between the manual signatures. Every time a new document is loaded, the firmware will reload the stamp settings from the settings page. When you change the values inside the signing process, the pad will store them as long as the document is opened.

You can change the following settings on this page:

  • Signature Stamp Settings for the manual signature process, this settings will be loaded as default when you upload a PDF for manual signing. You can enable a small visible text which will be included to the signature image inside the PDF. You can also define here the signer, reason and location values which will be added as meta data to the signature. Inside the Stamp-Textformat, you can reuse the signer, reason and location values with the placeholder [Signer], [Reason], [Location]. For adding the current time you can use [Time]. Following a sample how it can look like.

  • Setting passwords to access the device pages. With the “START PAGE PASSWORD,” you can limit access to the signature functionally. If you set this password, you will be forced to enter it every time you open the web interface of the device (or when you're using the API). With the “GALLERY PASSWORD” and “SETTING PASSWORD,” you can prevent the user from accessing these pages.

  • Network settings, which include the device name and the option to get the IP address by DHCP, or you can set the IP manually.

  • Certificate Settings: Here you can change the HTTPS certificate on the device. This is, for example, required when you change the device name and still want to use HTTPS without any warning. The reason is that the device name is also the hostname for which the factory certificate was created.

  • File type restriction allows you to limit the upload to specific file types, for example, to prevent the upload of new firmware update files by users.
